Feature Structure

The Feature Structure view can be selected from the solution toolbar.

Windows Installer packages are dividied at the highest level into features. The Feature Structure view allows you to design the structure appropriate for the application being deployed. The components associated with each feature can optionally be displayed also. Using drag and drop, features can be moved around the tree, and also components can be moved or copied between features.

All resources in a setup are arranged into components and these components are in turn arranged into features. When the package is to be deployed, the end user selects the features to install.
